Browns' Gary Barnidge: Shatters career-best marks in 2015 campaign

Barnidge, who caught 8-of-13 targets for 66 yards Sunday against Pittsburgh, finished the season with a total of 79 catches for 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns. Barnidge was one of the few bright spots in Cleveland in 2015, as his size relative to the other pass-catching options earned him plenty of targets in the offense (125). He made the most of those targets, shattering career-best marks in nearly every offensive category en route to earning a three-year contract extension in December. Regardless of the direction the new front office regime in Cleveland takes the franchise, Barnidge will once again be dealing with a young quarterback commanding the offense. That didn't prevent him from producing solid fantasy numbers in his age-31 season, however, and Barnidge will still presumably enter 2016 as a top-10 tight end option.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Team-high 47 yards in loss

Barnidge caught three of eight targets for 47 yards during Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Quarterback Johnny Manziel really struggled with his accuracy Sunday, as he completed just 13 of his 32 pass attempts, which left little for his receivers to produce. Barnidge co-led the team in receptions, while leading them in targets and yards, so while that's certainly a plus, Manziel will have to complete more passes for Barnidge's fantasy value to increase. Next up is a Week 17 matchup against the Steelers, who need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive after losing to the Ravens on Sunday.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Catches a TD in a quiet game

Barnidge caught three of four targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-13 loss at Seattle. Barnidge has proven to be consistent and matchup proof all season, and despite the low yardage total, Sunday was no different against a solid Seahawks defense. With at least 50 yards or a touchdown in 11 of the last 12 games, there's no reason not to trust him next week at Kansas City.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Returns to end zone versus 49ers

Barnidge caught five of seven targets for 84 yards and a touchdown in Suday's win over the 49ers. The veteran has remained consistent since his early-season emergence, posting respectable catch and yardage totals despite the ever-changing quarterback situation in Cleveland. Barnidge now sits third among NFL tight ends with eight touchdowns on the season, and Johnny Manziel's return to starting status likely bodes well for his fantasy value moving forward. Cleveland will travel to take on a tough Seattle defense in Week 15, but the Seahawks have been relatively susceptible to opposing tight ends this season.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Set to play Sunday

Barnidge (ankle) is active Sunday against the 49ers. Despite the "questionable" designation, Barnidge had been expected to suit up for the contest after logging limited practices all week. Only one of Barnidge's seven touchdowns on the season have come from Sunday's starter, Johnny Manziel, but at least Barnidge has collected 15 total targets in the last two contests that Manziel was under center. The 49ers defense has been tough on opposing tight ends this season, but Barnidge's resume to date likely lands him on the back end of the top-10 at his position this week.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Expected to play

Barnidge (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers, the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Barnidge is officially listed as questionable due to his ankle injury, but should be available for fantasy owners to use come Sunday. Fresh off signing an extension with the Browns this week, Barnidge will look to finish his breakout season strong, and should provide a safety net for quarterback Johnny Manziel this weekend.

Browns sign TE Gary Barnidge to extension

Barnidge (ankle) inked a contract extension with the Browns on Thursday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Barnidge was set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, but the team took a proactive measure to prevent that from happening in the midst of the tight end's best season. It hasn't mattered what quarterback was throwing him the ball, as Barnidge has still produced 817 yards and seven touchdowns over the team's first 12 games. This bodes well for the future fantasy production of the potential Pro-Bowler, as there will likely be more quarterback fluctuation in Cleveland in the seasons to come.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Limited at practice Wednesday

Barnidge (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday. Barnidge rolled his his ankle during Week 13's action, but at this stage, he's expected to play again the 49ers on Sunday, an outcome that would benefit the Browns' offense greatly, considering how banged up the team's wideout corps is.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Rolls ankle in Week 13

Barnidge rolled his ankle during Sunday's loss to the Bengals, but head coach Mike Pettine expects the tight end to play this Sunday against the 49ers, Mike Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Barnidge was able to muster five receptions (on eight targets) for 59 yards in spite of the ailment, but his lack of a touchdown extends a his dry spell in that realm to just two visits to the end zone over the last six contests. The upcoming week of preparation will shed light on his ability to suit up in Week 14.

Browns' Gary Barnidge: Hauls in five passes against Cincinnati

Barnidge caught five passes off of eight targets for 59 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. While Barnidge continues to reel in passes at an impressive rate, he has nabbed just one touchdown in his last four games, after scoring six in his first eight games. During that same stretch, Barnidge has averaged 62.5 yards per game, down from the 85.3 he averaged in Weeks 3 through 8. The veteran still trails only Delanie Walker and Rob Gronkowski among tight ends in receptions, so he's an obvious start, but not one that can be expected to help carry teams as he did earlier this year.
