    Reaves waived, Blackburn to IR among Panthers roster moves

    The Panthers announced a few roster moves Tuesday, which included waiving running back Darrin Reaves and placing linebacker Chase Blackburn (knee) on injured reserve. Reaves became expendable since DeAngelo Williams is set to return from an ankle injury Thursday against the Saints. The Panthers also announced they signed offensive tackle Mike Remmers off the Rams practice squad and promoted safety Robert Lester to the 53-man roster.

    Panthers list inactives for Week 8

    The Panthers have listed RB DeAngelo Williams, RB Fozzy Whittaker, CB Bene Benwikere, OG Amini Silatolu, OG Trai Turner, WR Philly Brown and LB Chase Blackburn as inactive Week 8 against the Seahawks. Blackburn, Brown and Williams had already been ruled out coming into the contest. Williams has now missed four straight games due to an ankle injury.

    DeAngelo Williams among Panthers ruled out for Sunday

    The seven players who have not practiced all week have been ruled out by the Panthers for their Sunday home game against Seattle. That group consists of cornerback Bene Benwikere (ankle), linebacker Chase Blackburn (knee), wideout Philly Brown (concussion), guards Amini Silatolu (calf) and Trai Turner (knee) and running backs Fozzy Whittaker (thigh) and DeAngelo Williams (ankle). Fellow running back Chris Ogbonnaya (groin) and linebacker Jason Williams (hip) are questionable while offensive linemen Nate Chandler (thigh) and Byron Bell (elbow) are probable.

    The Panthers downgraded five players to out for Sunday's Week 7 matchup with the Packers, including running backs DeAngelo Williams (ankle) and Fozzy Whittaker (thigh), guard Amini Silatolu (calf), linebacker Chase Blackburn (knee) and cornerback Bene' Benwikere (ankle). With Williams and Whittaker sidelined, Jonathan Stewart is expected to see most of the carries Sunday against the Packers.

    Panthers list lengthy injury report for game at Green Bay

    The Panthers listed a lengthy injury report on Friday, which included five players on the report due to non-injury related reasons leading up to Sunday's Week 7 clash at Green Bay. Those players were defensive tackle Colin Cole, linebacker Thomas Davis, defensive tackle Dwan Edwards, safety Roman Harper and defensive end Charles Johnson. They were all deemed probable for the game. Meanwhile, running back DeAngelo Williams (ankle), running back Fozzy Whittaker (thigh), guard Amini Silatolu (calf), linebacker Chase Blackburn (knee) and cornerback Bene' Benwikere (ankle) all did not practice Friday and were ruled doubtful for Sunday. Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) and running back Darrin Reaves (calf) were the only two players deemed questionable. Running back Jonathan Stewart (knee), tight end Greg Olsen (ankle) and cornerback Josh Norman (concussion) were all ruled probable for Sunday's game.

    In addition to running back DeAngelo Williams, who is out with a quadriceps injury, and defensive lineman Charles Johnson, who remains sidelined with a sprained knee, the Panthers' list of inactives for Week 13 against the Buccaneers includes wide receiver Tavarres King, wide receiver Marvin McNutt, offensive lineman Chris Scott (knee), tight end Ben Hartsock (knee) and linebacker Chase Blackburn (foot). King and McNutt are both healthy scratches.
