    Report: Jaguars sign DE Tyson Alualu to two-year deal

    The Jaguars have reached a two-year agreement with defensive end Tyson Alualu on Saturday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. He will make $6 million over two seasons with $4.25 million guaranteed, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Alualu, 27, registered 30 tackles and two sacks last season. He received negative overall ratings from Pro Football Focus in 2014. The former first-round pick has 195 tackles and 13 sacks in his five-year run with the Jags.

    The Jaguars have continued contract talks with defensive end Tyson Alualu and linebacker J.T. Thomas, the Florida Times-Union reports. The team has yet to decide whether to tender any of its restricted free agents. Both Alualu and Thomas received negative overall ratings from Pro Football Focus in 2014.

    The Jaguars list 12 players on their Friday injury report, but eight are probable. Among them are defensive tackle Tyson Alualu (elbow), defensive end Andre Branch (neck), wide receivers Cecil Shorts (groin) and Mike Brown (ankle), running back Maurice Jones-Drew (knee), defensive tackles Roy Miller (shoulder) and Sen'Derrick Marks (ankle) and tight end Danny Noble (hamstring). Offensive lineman Will Rackley (head) is doubtful while linebacker Paul Posluszny (concussion) is questionable.

    Tyson Alualu picks up a sack

    Jaguars defensive lineman Tyson Alualu recorded a sack Week 4 against the Colts, taking down quarterback Andrew Luck in the second quarter. It was his only tackle on the day. Alualu now has 1 1/2 sacks this season after recording 3 1/2 last season.

    The Jaguars have tinkered with defensive lineman Tyson Alualu, moving him to end on first and second downs, then moving him inside on third downs. The plan is to use his run-stopping skills more on those early downs.

    Alualu, Branch rest Thursday

    Jaguars defensive tackle Tyson Alualu and defensive end Andre Branch sat out practice Thursday with injuries suffered in previous minicamp workouts. Alualu has an abdominal issue while Branch hurt his groin. Neither ailment is considered serious.
