Avalanche's Calvin Pickard: Turns away 28 shots in win

Pickard saved 28 of 31 shots, registering his first win of the season against the Penguins on Monday.

While Pickard is the clear backup to Semyon Varlamov to start the season, the understudy owns an impressive .926 save percentage through the first 37 games of his career. Varlamov also has a history of lower-body injuries and has started 60 games just once in his career. Pickard can be utilized as a streamer and in daily contests against favorable opponents when given the starting nod, and is also worth owning in deep leagues given his strong play.
