Avalanche's Jarome Iginla: Racks up 17 PIM in shutout loss

Iginla and his teammates were collectively held off the scoresheet, but the veteran winger picked up 17 PIM in Tuesday's loss to Washington.

His second-period fight and misconduct penalty limited him to only 12:06 of ice time. Perhaps that was just as well, though, as the Avs never stood a chance in this game, coming as it did on the heels of a hard-fought victory in Pittsburgh the night before. Iggy's already almost halfway to last year's PIM total, but most fantasy owners are probably more interested in the 39-year-old's point production (one goal in three games so far). That's declined in consecutive seasons now, and at his advanced age, it's hard to expect Iginla to bounce back and post star-type numbers. He's not Jaromir Jagr, after all.
