Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews: Out Thursday, doubtful for Saturday

Toews (back) won't play Thursday against the Devils and is considered doubtful for Saturday's matchup with Philadelphia, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.

Back injuries are notoriously tough to recover from and easy to aggravate, so it isn't surprising that the Blackhawks are opting to take a cautious approach with their captain. Coach Joel Quenneville is hoping Toews will be able to skate this weekend, but there's still no telling when he'll be able to return to game action. At this juncture, it appears Toews is in serious danger of missing Chicago's next three games.
