Murray (foot) returned to practice Tuesday and is hopeful he'll be able to play Friday against the Blackhawks, The Columbus Dispatch reports.

He suffered what the team believes is a bone bruise while blocking a shot in Saturday's loss to the Sharks, and the fact that Murray was able to get back on his skates so quickly backs up that diagnosis. Rookie Zach Werenski has been impressive so far, which could limit Murray's ice time with the man advantage going forward, but he's still a key member of a very young Blue Jackets blue line.
