Blues' Jake Allen: Designated as Game 4 starter

Allen will work between the pipes as the Game 4 road starter versus the Predators on Tuesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

So far, Allen hasn't given backup goalie Carter Hutton any reason to jump off the bench in the postseason, but he still has precious little margin for error with his team down 2-1 in the series -- especially when opposing netminder Pekka Rinne currently leads all playoff goalies with an outstanding .950 save percentage. The St. Louis skaters need to show dramatic improvement on the power play in order to change the narrative of this series; they've only converted on 9.1 percent of man-advantage chances. Allen's been a steady fantasy weapon, but he simply needs more help from his mates.
