Pateryn will be replaced in the lineup by Mikhail Sergachev for Montreal's home opener Tuesday against the Penguins, Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette reports.

The move to scratch Pateryn from Tuesday's lineup is not a statement on his work through the first two games; rather, the Habs want to evaluate the 18-year-old Sergachev against an elite opponent. The Canadiens are still deciding whether to keep him in the NHL or return him to junior hockey.
