Virtanen is week-to-week with a hip pointer, Matthew Sekeres of TSN 1040 reports.

Virtanen suffered the injury after logging just 1:45 of ice time in Monday's game against the Ducks, and will now be sidelined for "awhile" as a result. Given his week-to-week label, Virtanen will at least be out until Dec. 13 against Chicago, and could be held out even longer, depending on how his recovery goes. Vancouver has placed the 19-year-old winger on injured reserve, so the Canucks should announce his activation once he is fit to play.
