Ovechkin snapped his four-game point drought with a goal in Thursday's loss to Dallas, giving him sole possession of the most career goals (484) by a Russian-born player.

Finally, almost two weeks and 26 shots after his last goal, Ovechkin found twine and snapped his tie with Sergei Federov. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his return to the goal column coincided with Nicklas Backstrom's return to his old spot as Ovechkin's center, as Evgeny Kuznetsov was pushed to the second line. Ovi may have been gripping the stick a little too tightly for a bit there, but now that he's over it, expect the points to start pouring in again. At just 30 years old, Ovechkin's on track to make his way into the top 20 all-time goal scorers within the next three years, with an eye on finishing his career in the top five.
