Holtby allowed two goals on 28 shots in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to the Penguins in Game 7.

What a disappointing end for Holtby and the Capitals, who were heavily favored in Game 7 after dismantling the Penguins in the previous two contests. No matter how impressive the Saskatchewan native has been in the regular season or how successful his team has been as a whole, the Capitals just haven't been able to break through despite perennially finishing at (or near) the top of the standings. Holtby finishes the 2017 postseason with a 7-6 record, 2.47 GAA and .909 save percentage -- numbers that leave plenty to be desired in contrast to his regular-season marks of 2.07 and .925.
