Connolly may play in Tuesday's contest versus the Avalanche, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.

Connolly has yet to make his Capitals debut after signing a one-year, $850,000 deal with the team in the summer. The sixth overall pick in 2010, Connolly has posted a modest 59 points in 210 NHL contests, including a 25-point career-high campaign with the Bruins last season. Despite serving as a healthy scratch for Washington's first two games, he's been practicing on the third line with Lars Eller, which is where the 24-year-old will probably slot in once he suits up for game action.
