Shattenkirk scored the game-winning goal in overtime to beat the Penguins in Game 3 on Monday.
Shattenkirk entered Monday's game with a minus-7 rating in the playoffs and a lot of negative press for his postseason performance. His season-saving goal in Game 3 was a huge momentum swinger in the series, and it could also prove to be the catalyst of a Round 2 comeback for the Caps. Hyperbole aside, Shattenkirk remains the power-play quarterback on the No. 1 unit, so he boasts plenty of fantasy value having the benefit of playing pitch and catch with Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin on the power play.
