Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Strikes twice for first points of season

Oshie scored a power-play goal in the second period and then an even-strength goal in the third en route to a 3-0 win over Colorado on Tuesday. He fired six shots on net and went plus-1.

After he went scoreless over the first two games -- including failing to put a shot on goal Saturday against the Isles -- the third time turned out to be the charm. Oshie was widely expected to pick up his offensive production upon joining Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin in Washington last year, but actually saw his scoring rate drop a bit, although he did set a new career high in goals. Look for him to pick it up in the assists category this time around, although he still doesn't have one to his credit yet.
