Moore is skating only 18:21 per game, and has just one assist through three contests.

Moore was expected to play a bigger role with fellow blueliner Adam Larsson being dealt to Edmonton in the offseason, but his ice time has dropped by a minute and a half per game from 2015-16. The 25-year-old left-handed defenseman has also ceded his valuable spot on New Jersey's second power-play unit to 27-year-old rookie Yohann Auvitu, so reaching last season's career high of 19 points will be very difficult unless he can reclaim that spot.
