Kalinin (illness) will not return to the lineup when first eligible, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

Coach John Hynes indicated Monday that Kalinin will need to get a couple practices under his belt before he would be considered as an option for the lineup. The 25-year-old winger will now aim to rejoin the lineup Thursday against the Bruins, but will need to make some progress in practice. Even when healthy, Kalinin doesn't provide a ton of offense (just 15 points in 78 games last season), leaving him most valuable in leagues that include hits.
