Zajac assisted on the Devils' first three goals -- two of them on the power play -- then scored one of his own, which held up as the game-winner in Thursday's 6-3 win over Ottawa.

The goal was Zajac's first since way, way back on Nov. 6, when he put one home against the Blackhawks. It also put a firm endpoint on his recent slump, as the 30-year-old had put up only a lonely assist over the last nine games coming in. He was able to make some magic in this one with rookie Joseph Blandisi and breakout winger Kyle Palmieri, so look for that trio to stick together in the near term.
