Vatanen's first-period power-play goal failed to hold up in Tuesday's 2-1 road loss to the Devils.

The Finn scored early on a brilliant snap shot in an attempt to ruin the Devils' home opener, but Taylor Hall's two goals in the next period turned the game the other way. The Ducks have opened with four straight road games, over which Vatanen has two points, but he was noticeably more productive at home last year -- 22 points in 38 games. He'll have to ply his craft on the road once more in Philly on Thursday before the Ducks finally have their own home opener Sunday.
