The Kings have sent Weal and a third-round pick to the Flyers in exchange for Vincent Lecavalier and Luke Schenn, Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada reports.

This is a good trade for the Flyers, as they reportedly save more than $4 million in cap space by retaining half of Lecavalier and Schenn's contracts. Weal was a third-round (70th overall) draft choice by the Kings in 2010. He was without a point in 10 games for LA this campaign, but the rookie is known for his rigid work ethic and could make a name for himself in the coming years.
