Cousins was re-assigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Saturday, NHL.com reports.
With R.J. Umberger (foot) and Ryan White (shoulder) both ready to return to action, Cousins and Colin McDonald will head back to Lehigh Valley. Cousins posted an even rating with zero points in four games after his Nov. 27 recall, averaging almost eight minutes per contest.
