Flyers' Steve Mason: Guarding twine Thursday

Mason will work between the pipes as Thursday's road starter against the Senators, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Mason prevailed over the Bruins in his last start Tuesday, slapping away 45 of 47 shots in the process. The veteran backstop has been maddeningly inconsistent this season, though he owns a sturdy 8-4-2 record, 2.10 GAA and .931 save mark in 14 career games against Boston.
