Ward was charged with three goals on 21 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers.

Staked to a 2-0 lead after one period against the NHL's best offense, Ward found out why the Rangers lead the Metropolitan Division while the Hurricanes are in seventh place. He can take some solace in the fact that he's not alone -- the Blueshirts have come back on a number of teams already this season -- but that won't make him feel much better about taking his third straight loss. It doesn't get easier Thursday, as the 'Canes have a road date with the Bruins coming up.
