Ward stopped 31 of 34 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime loss at the hands of the visiting Islanders on Tuesday.
He just beat them the night before despite giving up four goals, so the 'Canes chose to roll with what was working (such as it is). Obviously, it didn't work out -- which is what Ward's fantasy owners end up saying every year. He's 33, his ratios are subpar, and he loses more often than he wins, so he doesn't have a lot going for him other than a contract extension that runs through next season.
