Staal will miss the indefinite future after suffering a concussion in Sunday's game against the Panthers, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.

Staal was limited to just 2:54 of ice time Sunday because of the injury and it appears the issue could hold him out much longer than that. The team should update the top-six forward's status as he draws closer to a return, but his nine points through 21 games doesn't exactly make him a fantasy sutd. The club may be forced to recall another forward or go with seven defensemen should Brock McGinn (upper body) be unavailable.
