Islanders' Calvin de Haan: Seeing reduced role
De Haan skated 18:20 while going plus-2 with two shots and no points in Tuesday's loss to the Sharks.
The one-time first-round pick has finally been banished to the Isles' bottom pairing after yet another unimpressive season -- just 16 points in 72 games. He's averaging only 17:38 on the ice with nearly zero power-play time, but it's worth noting that de Haan has surprisingly been shooting at a higher rate than ever, having put eight pucks on net in four games. Of course, it's a small sample and he's gone unrewarded for it in the points column.
