Halak (groin) took shots and fully participated in morning skate Friday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Halak has witnessed goalie teammate Thomas Greiss engaging cruise control in the playoffs, winning five of seven games through Game 1 of the conference semifinals against the Lightning. Still, considering that three of Greiss's outings versus the Panthers in the quarterfinals went into overtime or beyond, it would make sense for the Isles to roll out Halak as soon as he's deemed healthy. Remember, Halak worked his way into 36 contests during the regular season, coming away with wins in half of his appearances. Check back on game day Saturday to see if Halak at least will be ready to serve in a backup role for Game 2.
