Halak shut out the Capitals on Thursday as he stopped 38 shots during a 3-0 win.

This was easily Halak's best performance of the season. Not only did he pick up his first shutout, it was also against one of the most prolific offenses in the league. The 31-year-old came into Thursday's contest with five straight losses -- including one benching -- in what was an ugly November. This is exactly the type of performance the netminder needed to boost his confidence, but owners should still approach with caution -- the Czech has given up three-plus goals in 10 contests this year (15 appearances).
