The Islanders assigned Pulock to AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday, Newsday's Arthur Staple reports.

The Islanders evidently elected to favor experience over talent during their last round of cuts, as the team will begin the season with veteran defenseman Dennis Seidenberg on the roster rather than Pulock, who was the club's first-round selection in 2013. However, the Isles are currently carrying three goaltenders and only six defensemen on their active roster, and will need to add a seventh blueliner before long. Look for New York to recall Pulock or fellow defenseman Adam Pelech to the big club within the first few weeks of the season.
