Carkner (back) is expected to miss the rest of the season, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.Carkner aggravated his back injury during the team's first preseason game of the season, and underwent surgery last week to fix the problem. The physical blueliner will have to get healthy for next season as the Isles prepare for the rest of this season without him.
