Jets' Michael Hutchinson: Confirmed to start Wednesday

As expected, Hutchinson will start in goal Wednesday, facing the Maple Leafs on home ice, the Winnipeg Sun reports.

This should be a fun game to watch, as the matchup features the top two picks from the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Hutchinson will try to stymie Auston Matthews, who went first overall, whereas the Jets will counter with Finnish sensation Patrik Laine. In terms of job security, Hutchinson benefited from his team waiving veteran puck stopper Ondrej Pavelec, but he can't let up much with promising netminder Connor Hellebuyck nipping at his heels and bidding for starts of his own. In Hutchinson's season debut this past Saturday, he coughed up four goals on 31 shots to the Wild -- that's obviously not what the Jets are looking for.
