Bishop (illness) was traded from the Lightning to the Kings on Sunday in exchange for Peter Budaj, Erik Cernak, a 2017 seventh-round draft pick, and a 2017 conditional draft pick. The Kings will also receive a fifth-round draft pick from the Lightning.

This trade would have made a lot of sense had it happened a month or two ago, but the fact that it occurred just one day following Jonathan Quick's return from a lengthy injury is a bit puzzling. Groin injuries like the one sustained by Quick can be very fickle, so the logic is that by adding Bishop, the Kings will have a solid starter if Quick aggravates his injury. Bishop was on fire prior to the trade, posting a 1.17 GAA and a .953 save percentage on his way to five straight victories. Having two great goalies on the same depth chart is great for the NHL team involved, but it could hurt the value of each one's individual fantasy value, as the two could split starts going forward.
