The Blue Jackets acquired Harrington and a conditional fifth-round draft pick from the Maple Leafs on Saturday in exchange for Kerby Rychel.

Harrington was used sparingly by the Leafs last season, appearing in only 15 games with one point (an assist) recorded in that span. He's a big defender and still has potential as a second-round draft choice from 2011, but it's worth noting that he jumps from one losing NHL team to another, so it's doubtful his value changes much despite donning a new sweater. He could start off in the minors next season.
