Ruhwedel headed to the training room after taking an elbow to the face from Senators forward Bobby Ryan in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The controversial hit -- which surprisingly wasn't met with a penalty -- took place in the waning moments of the first period, leaving the defenseman's nose bloody before he collected himself and skated off the ice on his own. Pittsburgh has seen its defenders drop like flies late in the season, but it's not as if Ruhwedel's fantasy ownership was high in the first place -- he entered the contest with a minus-3 rating and zero points through his first five career playoff games.
