Fehr was waived by the Penguins on Tuesday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
Fehr was still at Tuesday's game-day skate, and based on line rushes, he appears to be in the lineup for the evening's game against the Stars. If the Pens are going to make a move at the trade deadline, they need some extra roster flexibility, and waiving Fehr provides that; if their roster remains as it is, the 31-year-old could stay in the NHL rather than being sent down to the minors.
