Mueller was released Sunday from his professional tryout with the Bruins, Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe reports.
Mueller's last NHL action came in 2012-13, and he's since played in both Switzerland and Sweden. The 28-year-old received a shot at training camp with some players away at the World Cup of Hockey but didn't do enough in his time to earn a longer look. He's now free to shop around with other clubs.
