Rangers' Chris Kreider: Opens season with three straight multi-point games

Kreider both scored a goal -- this time on the power play -- and dished out an assist for the third consecutive game to open the season in Monday's win over San Jose.

That's three goal-and-assist stat lines in three games for Kreider, who finally looks like he's emerging into the star Rangers fans have been awaiting for a few years now. The goal was a thing of beauty, as Kreider came flying down the left wing and blasted a sharp-angle shot over the shoulder of Sharks netminder Martin Jones, who was helpless to resist. After barely averaging two shots per game last year, Kreider's unleashed 18 shots on opposing netminders through these first three contests. With 11 hits to boot, he's certainly putting the league on notice.
