Rangers' Ryan McDonagh: Garners first two points of season

McDonagh notched a pair of assists -- one on the power play -- over 26:10 of ice time in Monday's win over the Sharks.

His big minutes finally paid off, as McDonagh got on the scoresheet for the first time this season by assisting on a pair of second-period tallies that gave the Rangers a two-goal cushion heading into what ended up being a wild third frame. New York essentially played with five defensemen in that last period, as Dylan McIlrath got benched for a bad penalty earlier in the game. McDonagh's minutes load may get eased a little bit once Dan Girardi and/or Kevin Klein can return from injury, but the captain's still going to be the Rangers' most heavily used blueliner.
