Rangers' Ryan McDonagh: Not much on scoresheet yet

McDonagh has averaged 26:40 on the ice through the Rangers' first two games, although he hasn't registered a point yet to accompany his six shots and two PIM.

McDonagh skated an absurd 30:08 -- yes, more than half the game -- in Saturday's loss to the Blues, mostly because of Dan Girardi's second-period injury. He's offered peripheral production, as usual (four hits and three blocks), but fantasy owners are looking for more from McDonagh on the top line and top power-play unit. We all know the ability is there, as it was on display throughout his 14-goal, 43-point season in 2013-14. However, the 27-year-old hasn't taken that widely expected step forward into elite status. With the Blueshirts' blue line banged up early, they need more from their captain.
