Coreau was left exposed to the Golden Knights following Saturday's league-wide submission of protected player lists, MLive.com reports.

The chances of Coreau being acquired by the Vegas club are said to be low, and it's simply because the expansion franchise will be seeking more established options in goal. In no way is this a slight on Coreau; he's certainly trending in the right direction after backstopping AHL Grand Rapids to the 2017 Calder Cup championship. Detroit also exposed netminder Petr Mrazek in a rather shocking move, and Coreau would be first in line to back up Jimmy Howard if Mrazek ends up in Sin City.
