Sabres' Anders Nilsson: Defending cage against Rangers

Nilsson will man the crease for Thursday's meeting with the Rangers, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.

Nilsson was forced into action Tuesday after fellow netminder Robin Lehner (undisclosed) exited the game in the first period. Buffalo has yet to recall a goalie from the minors, which seems to indicate Nilsson will not need to fill in for an extended period of time. The 26-year-old has outpaced Lehner's numbers so far this year, so another strong outing could help his case for extra starts.
