Senators' Craig Anderson: Gives up five goals to end winning streak

Anderson saved just 23 of 28 shots during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

What a difference one player can make. On a night when the Sabres welcomed back superstar Jack Eichel, Anderson's four-game winning streak came to a screeching halt. The netminder had only allowed five goals over that span (one shutout), but he was no match for a rejuvenated Buffalo offense. That said, Anderson's pending departure from the team to spend time with his cancer-afflicted wife may have been weighing on his mind; some things are bigger than the game. Mike Condon will carry the torch for him as the starter while Anderson takes another leave of absence.
