Claesson will play Thursday night against the Flyers, Dan Seguin of CBC Sports reports.

Claesson replaces injured blueliner Mark Methot (lower body). He has only two points in 22 career games, but this latest opportunity is the perfect chance to show that he can hang with the big boys. The Swede will certainly be worth watching Thursday, as he gets a juicy assignment on the top pair with superstar Erik Karlsson, who's been involved in 404 regular-season goals over 502 games during his seven-year career.
