Niemi appears to be the starter Monday when the Stars face the Blues, reports Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.

As ever, it seems there's no amount of poor play that can stop the Stars from giving Niemi and Kari Lehtonen roughly an even split of starts in net. Niemi has been the superior netminder, posting a .909 save percentage, while his companion has just an .884. Niemi isn't lighting the world on fire and he's not going to see a ton of games, but he's outplaying his teammate and that's significant on a night when only four teams are playing.
