Eakin earned his first point of the year -- an assist -- in a 3-1 loss to Detroit on Tuesday.

The Manitoba native missed the first 17 games of the season with a knee injury and finally cracked the scoresheet after a sluggish start. Eakin has averaged nearly 16 minutes of ice time while spending most of his shifts skating with one (or both) of superstars Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin -- an assignment that couldn't get much better for the 25-year-old. He's flanked the big boys at times over the past four seasons and hasn't exactly blown up, however, maxing out at 40 points two years ago, so owners should temper their expectations.
