Shored was bumped up from the fourth line to the second line between Patrick Sharp and Brett Ritchie at practice Monday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

The 22-year-old was promoted to the top six during Saturday's game, a 6-5 loss to the Avalanche. The absence of Jiri Hudler (illness) has created an opportunity for the University of Maine product -- who put up 26 points in his first 23 games in the AHL last year before having his season ended but a nasty shoulder injury -- to ascend the lineup and get some looks with different linemates. Through two games, Shore has a goal and two assists while averaging 12:51 of ice time.
