Kuemper made 27 saves in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Kings.

In a classic example of "puck luck," Kuemper saw the biscuit ricochet off the post three times in the first period. "The post is a goalie's best friend, and they bailed me out a little bit early," said Kuemper in a report by Michael Russo of the Star Tribune. While he's clearly the backup to Devan Dubnyk in Minnesota, it must be a confidence booster for Kuemper that he not only started so early in the new season, but held on for a win.
