Reese agreed to terms on a contract with Husqvarna Vatterstad on Monday. Reese has not played in contest in the majors since the 2014-15 campaign, as he's spent the bulk of his playing time over the last two season in the AHL, where he tallied 48 points. Given his limited game action, it seems unlikely the 31-year-old blueliner will be returning to an NHL roster any time soon.
Reese cleared waivers Thursday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. Reese has only suited up for four NHL contests since 2012, and will almost certainly spend the rest of the 2015-16 campaign with AHL Springfield. He was, however, a solid producer in the minors last season, notching 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 72 games with AHL Portland.
Reese was activated from the IR and placed on waivers Wednesday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports. Reese has played in just four NHL games since 2012, featuring just once for the Coyotes last season. He was a strong contributor for AHL Portland last season, scoring 10 goals and 40 points in 72 games, but he hasn't been able to translate his AHL success to the NHL.
The Coyotes said that Dylan Reese (Achilles) suffered a severed Achilles tendon during his off-season training and is out indefinitely.
Dylan Reese will miss four-to-six months after suffering an injury while training during the offseason.
