Kulemin scored on both of his shots during Monday's win over Boston. The two tallies improved Kulemin to seven goals, 13 points and 44 shots through 40 games this season. Those are hardly fantasy numbers to count on, and the 30-year-old winger also entered Monday's game beginning just 33.0 percent of his five-on-five shifts in the offensive zone. Unless he finds his way to John Tavares' flank, Kulemin is unlikely to warrant fantasy attention.
Kulemin scored an empty-net goal in a 5-3 win over the Penguins on Wednesday. Kulemin -- a 30-goal scorer in 2010-11 -- is just 30 years old but is well past his prime, as this was just his second goal and fifth point of the season. He's on roughly the same scoring pace as last year when he managed to find the scoresheet just 22 times, so it doesn't appear he'll be turning back the clock anytime soon.
Kulemin returned from an upper-body injury against Toronto on Sunday. He picked up 11:08 of ice time and set up two goals in a 5-1 win. Kulemin was eased into the lineup after missing the previous two games. His total ice time went down as a season low, but it's obviously a good sign that he was so productive in limited action.
Kulemin (upper body) will return to the lineup for Sunday's game against the Maple Leafs, taking the place of fellow winger Alan Quine, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports. Kulemin missed two games with the ailment and will look to get his groove back against a struggling Toronto squad that is allowing 3.6 goals per game. Unfortunately, Kulemin is averaging only 14:13 of ice time this season, so don't expect his production to increase until he can be on the ice more frequently.
Kulemin (upper body) is not in the lineup for Thursday's matchup in Pittsburgh. Kulemin was effectively a game-time decision on Thursday, so it should be ok to be optimistic about his chances of playing on Sunday against the Maple Leafs. Either way, stay tuned for any updates on his status prior to then.
