  • Canadiens' Dale Weise: Scores power-play goal
    By RotoWire Staff

Weise scored a power-play goal in Wednesday night's 4-2 loss to Buffalo. The goal was Weise's first in 10 games and career-high 12th of the season. The Canadiens need goal-scoring so badly that grinders like Weise are getting minutes with a man-advantage. He had 15:51 TOI and is currently skating on the top line with David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty, where there's more scoring opportunities for him.

  • Weise had a shot on goal and a hit in 12:35 TOI in Sunday night's 5-2 loss to Chicago. Weise had missed four games due to an upper-body injury, but played in both games of a back-to-back set this weekend. He totaled one shot, three hits and was minus-3 in losses to St. Louis and Chicago.

  • Weise (upper body) is ready to return to the lineup and only needs to officially be cleared by team doctors. "I feel great but we'll have to wait for tomorrow (Saturday) morning. The doctors have to look at some stuff and make sure that I am medically cleared. But I feel really good," Weise added. Weise is an up-and-coming winger who plays with sheer determination. That's what the Habs need as they've fallen flat with just three wins over the past 10 games. At 27 years old, he's a late bloomer and will finally reach 300 games played in two more contests, but Weise has already hit the 20-point plateau by scoring about once every four games on average.

  • Canadiens' Dale Weise: On injured reserve
    By RotoWire Staff

Weise (upper body) is listed on injured reserve, according to the NHL Media Site. Weise has been ruled out for 2-3 weeks because of an upper-body injury suffered in Friday's Winter Classic, and the move to injured reserve was made as a result. The move allowed the Canadiens to recall Sven Andrigheto, who will replace him on the roster for the time being.

  • Canadiens' Dale Weise: To miss 5-10 games
    By RotoWire Staff

Weise (upper body) will be out anywhere from five to 10 games, Renaud Lavoie of Montreal's TVA Sports reports. The Habs welcomed back Brendan Gallagher for Friday's Winter Classic match against Boston, only to see Weise go down in that same game and be limited to just 7:29 of ice time. Once the Habs have a chance to reevaluate Weise further, a more defined injury timetable should follow.
